墨尔本大学招多少人?
Melbourne is the flagship of Australia's public university system, with an annual turnover approaching $10 billion . We have over 46, 589 students enrolled across our various campuses and schools; a student body representing approximately 100 countries, with more than half of our domestic students studying on-campus in Parkville. With a staff of 7, 238 full-time equivalent academic and professional staff, we are Australia’s largest university by enrollment. Over the past decade, Melbourne has invested heavily in its infrastructure to support these numbers——the University has built or relocated dozens of buildings, including four new libraries and two indoor sports stadiums; and enhanced facilities for learning environments such as science laboratories and language centres. Together, this investment has been worth almost AU$1billion(about RMB4.39 billion). In addition, from 2011–12 until 2015–16, the Commonwealth Government will invest up to AU$234 million(about RMB1.21 billion)in capital grants towards our infrastructure expansion.
In February 2014, the University announced a master plan to guide future developments at Melbourne’s parklands campuses, which provide a home to most of our faculties and schools. The Master Plan outlines how the University can maintain its place among the world’s elite universities – as well as meeting the needs of a growing population of international students and researchers. It identifies key areas where we need to enhance our teaching and research capability, while maintaining high levels of engagement with industry, government and the community. Some 25 projects were identified under the Master Plan to achieve this, including:
The establishment of three new research institutes focusing on digital technologies, space environmental engineering and microscopy (with an expected cost of between AU$35 and 50million)
Investments in biomedical sciences, including clinical trials units and cancer immunology and genomics research (estimated costs of about AU$200million )
The redevelopment of our law school (expected to cost just over AU$100milion)
